Yep Thats Me
Art Ramirez has over 45 years of photographic experience - from the fast paced environments of newspaper publishing and professional photo labs to retail photo store management and classroom Photoshop training.
Art became fascinated with photography at an early age. His professional experience began when he was still in college and began working for the local newspaper as a part time photographer and worked his way up to Chief photographer and photo Editor for a group of Scripps Howard newspapers.
Mentoring freelance newspaper photographers was Art's first chance to share his photography skills.
From the newspaper industry, Art's career moved to Hollywood where he honed his color processing and printing skills for the movie industry at a professional lab.
His journey then led him to the retail photo industry. After mastering the processing and maintenance of a mini- lab ,he moved on to camera sales and store management. Art's lab experience and the knowledge he gained about various cameras led him to providing training for new employees and new camera owners on basic photography and camera skills.
As Digital cameras came into the market and the technology began to improve, Art began exploring the world of digital photography. He also expanded his photography skills to include Photoshop retouching and restoration.
Art decided that in addition to sharing his photography knowledge ,many people would need help entering the world of digital photography. The books and classes that were available on digital photography were needlessly complicated.
That is when Art became passionate about teaching people the skills they need to take the best pictures possible.
Art lives in Orange County California with his wife Adrienne and their 4-legged "Kids" and teaches Digital Photography and Photoshop throughout Southern California.
